About this Event

Accessibility Renovation for Kids (ARK) is excited to announce our first live webinar of our new Speaker Series! These interactive events will include a variety of speakers on topics related to home accessibility challenges faced by children with mobility issues and their families.

This webinar event will also include a LIVE Q & A with the Speakers via an online platform.

Join us for our premier event where we explore designing accessible home renovations with an eye on style, comfort and avoiding that institutional feeling, as well as explaining some DIY features to help with accessibility in the home.

Fashionable Functionality Guest Speakers:

Griffin Simony – Shift Accessibility

Griffin is co-founder of Shift Accessibility; a company that focuses on accessible renovations. He along with business partner Josh Peill have a passion for creating spaces which are accessible and can be enjoyed by all.

As our main speaker, Griffin will talk about the many options available to make your home accessible with an eye for style and design. He will also detail a few simple projects you can do yourself to improve accessibility in your own home.

Catharine Eckersley M.OT., M.A. – Owner & Occupational Therapist, Valley to Peak OT Consulting Ltd.

She will bring her wealth of knowledge and experience in discussing how an OT can help your contractor with accessible renovations as well as the many possible options for funding and support that may be available.

Amanda Roth – Mom of Jaydon — ARK’s most recent ARK Kid!

Amanda is a busy mom of three very busy little boys; 6 yr old Jaydon and his twin brother Braydon and 4 yr old Mason. Needless to say her hands are full but she still finds time to make accessibility at home a bit more kid friendly when possible. She will talk about how ARK has changed their day to day lives and any suggestions she has for keeping a kid’s eye on accessibility renovations.
